Soil testing is one of the crucial elements involved in the construction process. It helps in determining whether the land is looking to construct for the project is suitable to do so i.e. it can withstand all the pressure or not. Rocksoil testing machine can help to answers these questions as they are highly efficient and effective in determining the nature and various properties of soil. For construction procedures to begin it is imperative to undertake various tests so to determine moisture content, minerals, and other important things. These parameters will help in deciding whether to proceed with the construction process or not.
The testing of
rock soil cannot be taken for granted as they form the foundation for
construction projects. In the worst-case scenario, any mistake could cause the
collapse of the whole of the project very easily leading to a waste of
investment of money, efforts, and time. This something no one can afford to bear.
This is to remember that the right soil for the construction project must be
composed of various physical and chemical components together which contribute
towards ensuring that the weight of the building or other construction project
is properly maintained and balanced. Hence it is thereby critical to conduct
various soil tests. Some of these are mentioned below:
· Moisture Content Test: As the name suggests, this test is used to determine the moisture
content and see whether it is within the required limit or not. Various methods
are there that can be put to use to measure the moisture content such as oven
drying, alcohol, and radiation, etc. The most recommended test for moisture
content is the oven drying method as it is known to give the most accurate results.
Besides moisture content, it is also important to know the humidity in the soil
through the water level.
· Specific Gravity Test: Under a specific gravity test, information about soil saturation
along with its void ratio is provided. Void ratio is nothing but the ratio of
void volume to the volume of the solids that are present in the soil. The right
soil for the construction procedure consists of low content of organic material
as well as porous and other heavy material.
· Dry Density test: This test is used to classify the soil into three categories namely
dense, loose, and medium based on the weight of the soil collected for samples.
The soil with low density will be best suited for construction activities as
they are useful in forming strong foundation.
· Atterberg Limit Test: This test is used for determining critical water content of the
soil that is useful in understanding the different attributes such as plastic
limit, liquid limit and shrinkage limit under various conditions.
· Compaction test: This test measures the compaction attribute of the soil along with
giving information about the maximum density of the soil.
Hence these are
important test that are undertaken to see whether the particular soil is
suitable for construction project or not. Besides soil testing, it is important
to conduct rock testing as well for making well informed decision. A
reliable rock testing instruments manufacturer must be
selected for getting the testing machines to get the accurate result.
